Best Practices For Asset Management

When I first got involved in Asset Management I did a lot of reading and I talked to many Asst Management Program developers and managers.  I felt that I could save a lot of time learning from others.  It was a great experience.

 It provides a framework and best practices for developing and implementing an Asset Management Program.    If you’re just getting started with your Program, it could help you establish the direction of your Program or if you’re currently managing a Program it may help you enhance your Program.

Factoid:  There are over 300 variations on the definition of Asset Management in use today.  The International Infrastructure Management Manual 2006 Edition defines Asset Management as the combination of management, financial, economic, engineering and other practices applied to physical assets with the objective of providing the required level of service in the most cost-effective manner.
